Arseny Gorbenko is a Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant Professor) in the Department of Banking & Finance at Monash Business School, Monash University, Australia. He earned his PhD in Finance from UNSW Sydney in 2020, preceded by an MS in Finance from Lappeenranta University of Technology and a Bachelor in Management from St Petersburg State University.
Research Interests:
Dr Gorbenko’s research spans Empirical Asset Pricing and Market Microstructure, with a concentrated focus on the behaviour and impact of sophisticated market participants—particularly short sellers, investment managers and securities-lending agents. His work explores how these actors affect price discovery, return predictability and market efficiency across international equity and bond markets.

Teaching & Service:
