Arne Uhlendorff is a CNRS research director at CREST (Centre de Recherche en Economie et Statistiques) and Professor of Economics at École Polytechnique, with additional research fellowships at IAB Nuremberg, IZA, DIW Berlin, and the Institut des Politiques Publiques (IPP). He directs the Chaire Sécurisation Des Parcours Professionnels, focused on securing professional pathways through policy research.
His research spans labor economics, public policy evaluation, job search dynamics, subjective expectations in economic decision-making, and structural econometrics. Key investigations include non-cognitive skills' impact on labor outcomes, vacancy referrals, within-occupation wage changes, gender disparities in training access, and unemployment benefit effects—often employing structural modeling and policy experimentation.
Uhlendorff actively contributes to European research networks through CREST and IPP, with current work emphasizing machine learning applications in re-employment prediction and randomized field experiments on active labor market policies, reflecting strong policy-relevant scholarship in labor market institutions.
