Arne Didrik Høiseth is a Lecturer at Akershus University Hospital's Division of Medicine and Laboratory Sciences. His research focuses on biomarkers in acute cardiac and respiratory conditions, particularly in patients with acute dyspnea, COPD exacerbations, and heart failure. He has contributed to studies evaluating cardiac troponin T, NT-proBNP, secretoneurin, and other biomarkers for diagnostic and prognostic utility in critical care settings. His work emphasizes improving clinical outcomes through advanced biomarker analysis and evidence-based protocols.
Research Interests: The interplay between cardiac and respiratory pathophysiology, biomarker-driven diagnostics, acute dyspnea etiology, and mortality prediction in critical illness. His studies often integrate clinical data from the Akershus Cardiac Examination (ACE) cohorts to validate novel biomarkers and scoring systems.
Key Contributions: Over 20 peer-reviewed articles since 2011, focusing on cardiac biomarkers in COPD exacerbations, acute heart failure, and emergency triage. Collaborations include developing high-throughput assays for secretoneurin and analyzing microRNA-210's role in acute heart failure.
