Arne Aalberg is a Professor at the Department of Structural Engineering, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Holding a PhD from NTNU (Trondheim) since 1995, his work focuses on steel structures and structural joints, particularly the mechanical behavior and design of load-bearing components.
- Research: Steel structures, joint mechanics, structural design
- Teaching: Courses on steel structures (TKT4170, BYGT2319), structural mechanics (BYGT2104, AAR4405), and bachelor thesis supervision (BYGT2950)
He leads the national mirror committee for NS EN 1993-1 (Eurocode 3: Design of steel structures) and has published on topics including end plate connections for hollow sections and joint stiffness classification boundaries.
