Arnaldo Rodriguez-Gonzalez is an Assistant Professor of Teaching in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University at Buffalo, part of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. His research focuses on symbolic dynamics, topological mixing, chaos theory, colloidal dynamics, and microfluidics. Rodriguez-Gonzalez holds a PhD in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from Cornell University (2022) and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (2015), with a minor in Applied Mathematics.
His work bridges mathematical theory with practical engineering applications, particularly in microfluidic systems and fluid dynamics. Notable achievements include the H. D. Block Teaching Prize (2019, 2021) and the Cornell Sloan Fellowship (2016-2020). His recent publications explore topics like delay differential equations, boundary-layer phenomena, and particle dynamics in microfluidic devices. Rodriguez-Gonzalez’s research emphasizes both foundational theoretical contributions and innovative experimental approaches in fluid mechanics and nonlinear dynamics.
