Arnaja Mitra

Arnaja Mitra is a Postdoctoral Associate in Mathematics at the University of Maryland, College Park, working under Prof. Abba Gumel. She holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Dallas (advised by Zalman Balanov, Dmitry Rachinskiy, and Wiesław Krawcewicz) and an M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Mathematics from Indian institutions.

Her research focuses on mathematical biology (infectious diseases) and applied dynamical systems, with a specialization in equivariant degree theory and symmetric systems. Arnaja has secured multiple grants and travel awards, including NSF-funded AWM Travel Grants and a Postdoctoral Mentoring Grant from the University of Maryland. Her work has been accepted for publication at venues like ICERM and the AWM Research Symposium.
