Arminda Moreno Diaz

Arminda Moreno Diaz serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Artificial Intelligence at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, holding a tenured position since February 2003. She actively contributes to the Decision Analysis and Statistics Research Group and the AI.nnovation Space research center.

Her academic foundation includes a Mathematics degree specializing in Statistics and a PhD in Computer Science. She maintains an extensive teaching portfolio covering probability, statistics, and data analysis methodologies across multiple recognized teaching periods.

Dr. Moreno's research program integrates two core strands: first, statistical regression models for ordinal variables applied to service satisfaction analysis (originating from her doctoral work); second, mathematical modeling of vertebrate visual information processing. Her expertise drives significant contributions to data analysis, including general linear models and topological data analysis, with cross-disciplinary relevance to bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, and computational mathematics as evidenced by her frequent publication themes.

She has secured participation in 17 competitive research projects funded by the European Community, Spanish Ministries, Madrid Autonomous Community, and her university. Her mentorship includes supervising master's theses focused on data analysis applications and modeling techniques.
