Arman Rahmim is Professor at the University of British Columbia, jointly appointed in the Faculty of Applied Science and Faculty of Medicine, with affiliations in the School of Biomedical Engineering and Departments of Radiology, Physics & Astronomy. As a Distinguished Scientist at BC Cancer Research Institute, his laboratory (Qurit Lab) focuses on molecular imaging and therapy.
Research interests center on quantitative tomographic imaging for improved cancer diagnosis and therapy, leveraging machine learning, radiomics, and theranostics. His work aims to quantify radiopharmaceutical targeting mechanisms and translate imaging solutions to clinical applications. Recent publications demonstrate strong focus on AI-integrated medical imaging, radiopharmaceutical dosimetry, and computational oncology.
Major awards include the John S. Laughlin Young Scientist Award, Presidential Distinguished Service Award, and Edward J. Hoffman Memorial Award. Leadership roles include serving as President of SNMMI PIDSC and Chair of SNMMI AI Task Force. As Co-Founder/CSO of Ascinta Technologies, he develops AI-enabled theranostic solutions.
