Arkadiusz Karapuda, born October 8, 1981 in Żyrardów, serves as a university professor (Associate Professor rank) at the Faculty of Painting, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he has been employed continuously since 2007 following his graduation. Holding a habilitation degree (dr hab.), he represents a core faculty member specializing in traditional and contemporary painting practices.
His academic foundation was built at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (2002–2007), where he received the Minister of Culture and Art scholarship in 2005. He completed his thesis with Rector's distinction under Professor Marek Sapetto's painting studio and supplemented it with technical research at the Studio of Techniques and Technology of Wall Painting supervised by Assistant Professor Edward Tarkowski.
Prof. Karapuda's research centers on the intersection of artistic creation and material science, with emphasis on wall painting conservation, historical techniques, and modern applications of traditional media. His methodology integrates hands-on studio practice with technological analysis of pigments and substrates.
His thesis work earned three significant accolades:
- Józef Szajna Award for artistic innovation
- Award from Ewa Tomaszewska (Member of European Parliament)
- BPH Bank Award for technical excellence
While his teaching and artistic contributions are documented, specific details regarding graduate student supervision, external research grants beyond his 2005 scholarship, or dedicated laboratory facilities were not referenced in the source material.
