Prof. Dr. Arjan Kuijper holds a chair in Mathematical and Applied Visual Computing at TU Darmstadt and is a member of the management of Fraunhofer IGD, responsible for scientific dissemination. He obtained his PhD from Utrecht University and has over 400 peer-reviewed publications. His research covers mathematics-based methods for computer vision, biometry, graphics, imaging, pattern recognition, interaction, and visualization. He serves as associate editor for multiple journals and president of the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR).
His research interests span all aspects of mathematics-based methods for visual computing, with recent publications focusing on 6D object pose estimation, face recognition robustness, and transparency detection in computer vision systems.
