Aristeidis Raftapostolos is a Lecturer in Finance at King’s Business School, King’s College London, specializing in Machine Learning and Bayesian time series econometrics applied to macroeconomics and finance. He joined King’s in July 2022 following a role as a Supervision Analyst at the European Central Bank. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Strathclyde and postgraduate degrees in Finance (Queen Mary, University of London) and Economics (Athens University of Economics and Business).
His research focuses on advanced econometric methods for financial and macroeconomic forecasting, including deep learning applications, quantile regression, and nonlinear modeling. He has published in top journals like the Journal of Financial Econometrics and is currently working on projects involving panel data models and US state-level GDP estimation.
Teaching responsibilities include courses on analytics in finance, big data visualization, and commercial banking at King’s. Previously, he taught quantitative methods and econometrics at the University of Strathclyde. His work spans both academic research and policy-oriented analysis, as evidenced by collaborations with institutions like the ECB and contributions to pandemic forecasting using statistical time series methods.
