Arijela Fabrio

Arijela Fabrio serves as Senior Lecturer in Italian for Academic Purposes at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, a position she has held since her 2008 election following 15 years of institutional service beginning in 1993 after careers at Zagreb Youth Theater, Croatian Television, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Her academic credentials include a 2008 master's degree and 2020 doctorate from the same faculty in philology, with doctoral research analyzing Matilde Serao and Marija Jurić Zagorka as exemplars of women's literary and social engagement across the 19th-20th centuries. Her master's thesis examined Marchese Comombi’s Poetics.

Research focuses on Italian literary traditions, gender studies in literature, and historical socio-literary movements, evidenced through professional publications and active participation in linguistic conferences and workshops. She maintains scholarly engagement through Croatian Radio collaborations and contributions to literary-theater periodicals.

Her institutional activities include involvement with the Center for Foreign Languages (CSJ), where she contributes to judicial interpreter examinations and holds membership in HGK's Community for Foreign Languages. She received diplomatic training scholarships including a multi-month Ministry of Foreign Affairs grant and a Young Diplomat of Italy certification from Rome's Diplomatic School.

Additional professional development includes specialized Italian language training programs and public certification documents authorized by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport for work book registration.
