Ariana Guilherme Fernandes serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Work, Child Welfare and Social Policy at Oslo Metropolitan University's Faculty of Social Sciences. Her academic foundation includes a Master's in International Social Welfare and Health Policy and a PhD in Social Work from the University of Gothenburg.
Her research focuses on integration policy for refugees and immigrants, particularly examining the Norwegian Introduction Programme through critical lenses of intersectionality and anti-racist social work. She investigates power dynamics in user participation, social inequality, and the ethnification of social risks within Nordic welfare systems.
