Ari Kahn

Ari Kahn is a postdoctoral researcher at the Princeton Neuroscience Institute, working with Nathaniel Daw, and will join the University of Arizona as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology and the Cognitive Science Program in Spring 2026. His research explores how humans and animals plan and make decisions in complex environments, leveraging tools from network science, control theory, and reinforcement learning.

• PhD in Psychology (University of Pennsylvania, advised by Dani Bassett)
• Interdisciplinary research bridging cognitive science, neuroscience, and computational modeling
• Focus on predictive models, temporal abstraction, and decision-making mechanisms

Kahn’s work investigates how people learn and apply predictive models to guide long-term planning, using neuroimaging and behavioral studies in humans and animals. He is actively recruiting lab members, including graduate students and postdocs, for his upcoming lab at the University of Arizona.
