Prof. Dr. Arda Arikan is a Professor in the Department of English Language and Literature at Akdeniz University’s Faculty of Letters. He holds a Ph.D. from Penn State University’s Science, Technology, and Society program and a B.A. from Hacettepe University’s American Culture and Literature department. His research focuses on literary theory, medieval studies, education, and cultural analysis. He has advised 27 theses and contributed to over 260 publications with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches.
Key research areas include medieval literature, postmodern theory, ecocriticism, and language pedagogy. Notable works explore narratives in Mary de France’s lais, the intersection of medievalism and digital culture, and integrating Sustainable Development Goals into teacher education. His studies often bridge literary analysis with sociocultural contexts, such as comparative folklore between Turkish and Ladino traditions or cosmopolitanism in Irish poetry.
Prof. Arikan’s publications reflect a commitment to pedagogical innovation, examining topics like pre-service teacher training, art-based learning strategies, and curriculum development for young learners.
