Arcangelo Castiglione is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Salerno, where he maintains an active research profile and teaching responsibilities. He is currently based at the Fisciano Campus, Building F, Fourth Floor, Room 018 (U.FSTEC-07.P04.018).
His primary research focus lies in Cyber-Physical Systems Security, with particular emphasis on automotive applications. Castiglione serves as the Scientific Director of the Automotive and Cyber-physical Systems Security Lab at the University of Salerno, where he leads research efforts in intelligent security systems, AI/ML applications for cybersecurity, and IoT security frameworks. His work spans theoretical, methodological, and technological aspects of securing critical infrastructure systems.
Castiglione's research activities demonstrate a strong interdisciplinary approach, bridging computer science with engineering applications. His laboratory's work addresses security challenges in smart cities, smart grids, intelligent transportation systems, and other critical infrastructure domains where cyber-physical integration creates unique vulnerability surfaces.
As an educator, Castiglione supervises graduate students from Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in Computer Science, particularly those working on projects related to IoT security, automotive security, drone systems, maritime applications, and smart buildings security.
Castiglione maintains regular office hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00-12:30, available in person or via Microsoft Teams with prior email appointment.
