Arash Mahdavi-Amiri

Arash Mahdavi-Amiri is an Assistant Professor at the School of Computing Science, Simon Fraser University, and serves as the director of the Master of Science in Professional Computer Science program and research director at MARZ (Mahdavi-Amiri Research Lab). He is an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics and actively contributes to academic leadership as a technical paper chair for 3DV 2026 and program committee member for SIGGRAPH 2025 and SIGGRAPH Asia 2024.

Papers like Cora and pOps highlight his contributions to correspondence-aware image editing and photo-inspired diffusion operators.

Scientific Awards include the NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship, J.B. Hyne Research Innovation Award, Michael A. J. Sweeney Award, and a Teaching Excellence Award. His research has also led to patents in image processing and aging/de-aging technologies.
