Dr. Aparna Viswanath is an Instructional Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Houston's Cullen College of Engineering. She holds a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from Osmania University (India) and a Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore). Her research focuses on Power System Planning, Deregulated Power Markets, and Reliability Evaluation of Power Systems. Dr. Viswanath has over 11 years of academic experience, including a Lecturer position (equivalent to U.S. Assistant Professor) at the University of Newcastle (Australia/Singapore Campus). She secured a consultancy project titled 'Singapore Generation Reserve Margin Study' from the Singapore Energy Authority. Her work spans renewable energy integration, transmission planning optimization, and contingency management frameworks.
