Dr. Aparna Saksena is a Research Fellow and Deputy Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute for Sustainable Materials, leading projects in the Department Microstructure Physics and Alloy Design. Her work focuses on advanced materials for extreme environments, with expertise in alloy design, atom probe tomography, and hydrogen embrittlement studies. She holds a Dr.-Ing. from RWTH Aachen University and has conducted postdoctoral research at MPIE.
Her research integrates experimental and computational methods to address challenges in materials science, including superalloy optimization, thin film catalysis, and radiation damage analysis. Saksena’s recent studies emphasize hydrogen’s role in material behavior, leveraging advanced microscopy and machine learning techniques.
Publications since 2020 highlight contributions to lithium metal battery substrates, high-entropy alloys, and radiation-resistant materials. Her work bridges fundamental material science with industrial applications, particularly in sustainable energy and aerospace sectors.
