Anxo Sánchez

Anxo Sánchez is a Full Professor of Applied Mathematics at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, where he founded the interdisciplinary research group GISC (Grupo Interdisciplinar de Sistemas Complejos) in 1996. He is also an Associated Researcher at the Institute for Biocomputation and Physics of Complex Systems, Universidad de Zaragoza. His academic affiliations reflect a strong commitment to interdisciplinary research at the intersection of physics, mathematics, and the social and biological sciences.

His research interests lie in the application of complex systems theory to real-world phenomena. Key areas include social dynamics, behavioral economics, evolutionary game theory, and ecological modeling. He investigates how collective behaviors emerge from individual interactions, with applications ranging from primate social structures to human decision-making. He is a member of the executive committee of the Complex Systems Society and part of the expert network of Fundación COTEC, where he co-directs the Behavioral Economy Lab.
