Anurag Agarwal

Anurag Agarwal is a Professor and Program Coordinator in the Department of Information Systems, Analytics & Supply Chain at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) Lutgert College of Business. He joined FGCU in 2019, having previously taught at Kent State University, University of Florida, and University of South Florida. He holds a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from The Ohio State University, an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse, and a B.E. from IIT Roorkee, India.

His research focuses on applying machine learning and metaheuristics to solve optimization problems in business operations, including neural networks, genetic algorithms, and scheduling algorithms. His teaching spans Information Systems, Big Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, programming languages, and project management. With over 40 peer-reviewed articles and 70+ conference presentations, his work appears in venues like the INFORMS Journal on Computing and European Journal of Operational Research.

Agarwal serves on the editorial board of Enterprise Information Systems and is active in professional societies like INFORMS and the Production and Operations Management Society. His recent research includes studies on inmate misconduct prediction, cybersecurity for LEP populations, and O2O food delivery dynamics. He actively contributes to interdisciplinary areas like IoT, cyber hygiene, and supply chain optimization.

Notable publications include foundational work on neurogenetic approaches for scheduling, metaheuristics in supply chain logistics, and predictive modeling frameworks. His work bridges theoretical methodologies with practical business applications across industries.
