Anuradha Basu is a Professor and Director of the Silicon Valley Center for Entrepreneurship at San José State University's Lucas College and Graduate School of Business. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Cambridge, an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, and a BA in Economics from the University of Delhi.

Her research focuses on entrepreneurship, particularly immigrant entrepreneurship, transnational business networks, and family enterprises. Notable areas include cultural influences on entrepreneurial behavior, institutional support for small businesses, and the dynamics of ethnic minority enterprises. She has explored topics such as South Asian entrepreneurship in the UK, transnational strategies of Silicon Valley’s Indian diaspora, and the role of prior startup experience in transnational ventures.
Her articles reflect a consistent focus on globalization’s impact on entrepreneurship, ethnic business models, and the interplay of cultural and economic factors in enterprise development. She has contributed to understanding how immigrant entrepreneurs navigate transnational landscapes and leverage diaspora networks for market entry and growth.
As Faculty Advisor to the SJSU Entrepreneurial Society, she supports student internships and shadow programs. Her work bridges academic research and practical entrepreneurship education, exemplified by her involvement in capstone projects and curriculum design.
