Anu Tourunen

Anu Tourunen is a Research Fellow in the Department of Psychology at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. Her decade-long research explores physiological synchrony in social interactions, with pioneering work on autonomic nervous system coordination during couple therapy. She investigates how emotional and physiological attunement impacts therapeutic outcomes.

Her publications include multimodal studies on movement, speech, and sympathetic nervous system synchrony. Current projects include the PhinGAIN initiative, optimizing remote meetings using physiological indicators. She disseminates findings through podcasts (Now, Appalachia) and international workshops.
