Antonio Rizzi is Full Professor of Industrial Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the University of Parma, Italy, within the Department of Engineering and Architecture. He is founder and director of the RFID Lab—an internationally recognized center of excellence for RFID research and technology transfer since 2005—and co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of RF Technologies: Research and Applications.
Research interests:
- Value creation in logistics and supply chains
- RFID and IoT applications across food, fashion, healthcare and retail sectors
- Process automation, inventory optimization and waste reduction enabled by emerging technologies
His recent publications (2024) demonstrate an interdisciplinary approach that couples rigorous engineering simulation with environmental life-cycle analyses of RFID systems, reflecting a commitment to both technological innovation and sustainability.
