Antonio HS Delgado

Antonio HS Delgado is an Assistant Professor of Dental Materials and Operative Dentistry at Instituto Universitário Egas Moniz (Portugal), where he lectures and supervises MSc students. He holds an Honorary Research Fellow position at University College London's Eastman Dental Institute (UCL, UK). His academic background includes a dental degree from Egas Moniz School of Health (2017) and a PhD in Biomaterials & Tissue Engineering from UCL (2021), focusing on self-adhesive composites for dental applications. He has authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles and secured awards such as the IAAD Fusayama Scientist Award (2019, 2021) and the EUROMAT Lecture Award (2022).

His research spans biomaterial characterization, polymer chemistry, and adhesive dentistry, with expertise in ATR-FTIR/Raman spectroscopy. He has conducted studies on dental adhesives, composite materials, and their applications in pediatric dentistry. Delgado is affiliated with the Centro de Investigação Interdisciplinar Egas Moniz (CiiEM) and has collaborated internationally, including at the University of Hong Kong and Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.

Teaching responsibilities include courses on Dental Materials Science and Operative Dentistry.
