Antonio Carlin

Antonio Carlin is a Tenured Assistant Professor in the Department of Management and Production Engineering (DIGEP) at the Polytechnic of Turin, affiliated with the College of Mechanical, Aerospace and Automotive Engineering. His academic career spans over a decade with consistent contributions to engineering education and research.

Dr. Carlin's research interests focus on supply chain management, industrial plants design, occupational safety, logistics optimization, and production systems. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical industrial applications, particularly in the automotive and manufacturing sectors. He has developed expertise in human-centric workplace design, logistics performance measurement, and pandemic-related supply chain disruptions.

His recent publications (2024-2025) demonstrate a strong focus on contemporary challenges including lighting design in automotive assembly workstations from a human-centric perspective, the impact of COVID-19 on personal protective equipment supply chains, and tailored project management approaches for public procurement. These works reflect his interdisciplinary approach connecting engineering systems with human factors and supply chain resilience.

Dr. Carlin has been actively involved in numerous research projects, including the NEXT MIRS project on integrated production of high-performance tires (2008-2010) and multiple consulting engagements with industry partners such as FAG Artigrafiche SPA and KUEHNE+NAGEL SRL. His industry collaborations span areas of production processes, logistics optimization, layout design, and implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies.

As an educator, Dr. Carlin has taught 'Supply Chain Management' in the Management Engineering program and 'Industrial Plants and Occupational Safety' in the Mechanical Engineering program across multiple academic years (2019-2025). He has also served on PhD program committees for 'Production Systems & Industrial Design' at the Polytechnic of Turin since 2009.
