Antonia Chatzirodou

Dr Antonia Chatzirodou is a Senior Lecturer in Civil Engineering at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), affiliated with the Faculty of Environment and Technology and the Engineering, Design and Mathematics department. She serves as Programme Leader and teaches modules such as Strategic Issues in Engineering, Hydraulics and Engineering Applications, and Hydraulic Modelling for Flood Risk Management.

Her research focuses on Coastal Hydrodynamics, Coastal Sediment Transport Dynamics, Coastal Flood Modelling, and Marine Renewables. She has contributed to projects like FloodMEMORY/EPSRC and TeraWatt, developing computational models for coastal dune systems and tidal energy converters. Her work bridges environmental engineering and climate risk adaptation.

Dr Chatzirodou has collaborated with organizations such as the Environment Agency, Wessex Water, and RAPPOR CONSULTANTS LTD. She previously worked as a Modelling and Forecasting Officer for the Environment Agency and conducted postdoctoral research at Swansea University.

In teaching, she leads modules on hydraulics, flood risk management, and field studies. Her expertise spans Numerical Modelling, Climate Change Adaptation, and Integrated Water Resources Management.
