Antoni Trilla

Antoni Trilla is a Professor of Public Health and currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Barcelona. He previously held the role of Academic Vice-Dean since 2013. His academic career includes roles as Head of the Preventive Medicine and Epidemiology Service at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona and Research Professor at the Barcelona Institute of Global Health. He is also a member of the Governing Board of the Barcelona Medical Association.

Education: Graduate and PhD from the University of Barcelona in Medicine. Specialized in Internal Medicine and Preventive Medicine/Public Health.

Research Focus: Prevention/control of healthcare-associated infections, influenza, vaccines, vaccination strategies, and isolation protocols for highly transmissible diseases. He emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration with healthcare institutions and professional colleges to align graduate profiles with societal needs.

Awards: Recognized for his contributions through the Josep Trueta Medal, Big Vang Medal, Professional Excellence Award, and the V Distinction for scientific/humanistic dissemination.

Dean’s Priorities: Modernizing education (e.g., virtual reality, simulation tools), gender equality, environmental sustainability, efficient resource management, and ethical standards in academia. He aims to strengthen the Faculty’s global standing and community engagement.
