Antoni Riera Font

Antoni Riera Font is a Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), where he has been a teacher and researcher since 1992. He founded the Tourism Impact Analysis Research Group (AEIT) and has directed the Centre for Economic Research (CRE, UIB · Sa Nostra). His work focuses on environmental economics, regional economics, and tourism systems, with over fifty articles in international journals.

Research Interests: Environmental economics, economic valuation techniques (discrete choice models), regional economics, tourism systems, and applied economic analysis. He promotes interdisciplinary approaches through projects funded by European, state, and regional grants.

• Recognition of Merit from the Municipal School of Mallorca in Manacor
• Extraordinary Doctorate Award

Leadership and Teaching: He directed the White Paper on Tourism in the Balearic Islands: Towards a New Tourism Culture, co-founded higher education programs like the Master's in Business Management: Quality and Environment (affiliated with the UNESCO/Sa Nostra Chair), and the International Master's-Doctorate in Tourism and Environmental Economics. Currently, he leads the UIB's PhD Program in Applied Economics and advises the Impulsa Balears Foundation.
