Antoni Cygan

Antoni Cygan is a Professor of Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice and currently leads the Drawing Studio for students in years 2-5. He was elected Rector of the University for the 2012-2016 and 2016-2020 terms.

• Studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts in Katowice (Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow)
• Working at his alma mater since 1992
• Professor title since 2011

Research Interests: His artistic focus spans Fine Arts, particularly painting, with a strong emphasis on Religious Art (Stations of the Cross cycles, church interiors) and Portrait Painting of notable academics.
