Dr. Antonella Calarota-Ninman is a Lecturer and Director of the Center for Latino Heritage and Spanish Language Excellence (CLASE) at Montclair State University's College of Humanities and Social Sciences. She teaches Spanish for Heritage Speakers and Literature courses, and has created innovative programs such as the first online Spanish language courses and the Communicative Workshops for introductory Spanish classes. She co-founded the HOLA oral history program for Latino communities in 2022. Her research focuses on Latin American Modernism, oral history, Indigenous Hispanic cultures, and Digital Humanities.
Dr. Calarota-Ninman holds an MA in Foreign Languages and Literatures from the University of Siena, another MA in Hispanic Studies from the University of Granada, and a Ph.D. in Latin American Literature from the University of Madrid (UNED). She has published on Ecuadorian Modernist poetry and literary movements.
