Anton Vidal

Prof. Anton Vidal is a Research Professor at the University of Barcelona's Department of Inorganic and Organic Chemistry. Previously, he served as a Group Leader at the Institut Català d'Investigació Química (ICIQ) from 2003 to 2019. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Institut Químic de Sarrià (1992) and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Cambridge (1993–1994) and the University of Barcelona (1995–1999). His work combines academic and industrial experience, including roles at Bayer-AG (1999–2003).

Research focuses on designing efficient, sustainable catalytic tools for asymmetric synthesis, integrating modular catalytic systems, molecular recognition studies, and computational methods.
