Dr. Antoine Vallatos is a Senior Lecturer in MRI Physics & Translational Imaging Biomarker Development at the University of Glasgow's School of Psychology & Neuroscience. His work focuses on advancing MRI technologies for clinical translation, particularly in neurovascular diseases, brain tumors, and neonatal encephalopathy. He leads research in quantitative MRI validation using histology correlation, 3D-printed phantoms, and multi-parametric imaging approaches. Collaborations include the Wellcome Surgical Institute and international teams in biomarker development.
Research interests span MRI physics innovations, including phase-contrast velocimetry, arterial spin labeling, and dynamic contrast-enhanced techniques. His team addresses technical challenges at the interface of imaging science and biomedical applications, with recent work on turbulence effects in fluid dynamics and adaptive manufacturing for healthcare crises.
Publications emphasize methodological advancements in imaging accuracy and their biomedical applications, such as glioblastoma modeling, cerebral small vessel disease, and therapeutic evaluation in stroke. He actively develops imaging tools for preclinical and clinical translation, bridging gaps between physics innovation and clinical impact.
