Antoine Khoury

Dr. Antoine Khoury is a Professor of Urology at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) School of Medicine and serves as the Chief of Pediatric Urology at CHOC Children’s Urology Center. He holds the Walter R. Schmid Endowed Chair in Pediatric Urology and has over 25 years of clinical and academic leadership experience in pediatric urology.

Dr. Khoury completed his medical training at Ain Shams University, residency at the University of Toronto, and fellowship in pediatric urology at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. He previously served as Division Head of Urology at SickKids from 1995 to 2008 before joining UCI and CHOC.

His research and clinical interests focus on congenital urological anomalies, including hypospadias, posterior urethral valves, exstrophy-epispadias complex, vesicoureteral reflux, and prenatal hydronephrosis. His scholarly work spans reconstructive surgery, infection control, and biomaterials, with a patent on bioelectric mechanisms to eliminate bacterial biofilms.

His recent publications emphasize clinical reviews and evidence-based management strategies in pediatric urology, particularly in antibiotic prophylaxis, prenatal hydronephrosis, and surgical techniques.
