Anthony Walker serves as an Adjunct Professor of Music and Director of Keyboard Studies within the Music Department of Eastern University's College of Arts and Humanities. He concurrently holds positions as Music Director at Hope Christian Church (Greater DC area) and for the Washington Performing Arts Men, Women and Children of the Gospel.
His educational foundation includes an M. Mus degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Temple University, building on childhood piano training in St. Paul, Minnesota where he debuted publicly at age ten.
Walker's artistic specialization spans classical, gospel, jazz, and rhythm & blues traditions, characterized by a sophisticated style comparable to Herbie Hancock and George Duke. His performance career encompasses five continents with collaborations including Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Take 6, and gospel artists like Donnie McClurkin and BeBe & CeCe Winans.
Notable engagements feature headlining at Blues Alley and The Blue Note, performing with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center (2019), and serving as musical director for Ledisi at the White House (at First Lady Michelle Obama's request) and the 2013 Presidential Inauguration. Additional highlights include Broadway appearances, 18 months touring with The Winans' gospel musical Don't Get God Started, and participation in the Smithsonian Institution's historic piano exhibit (2000-2001).
Professional activities extend to television appearances on NBC Today Show, CBS Morning Show, and Late Night with David Letterman, alongside session work for artists such as Kelly Price and Maurette Brown Clark.
