Anthony Traboulsee

Dr. Anthony Traboulsee is a Professor in the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, at the University of British Columbia, where he holds grant tenure and serves as the Research Chair of the MS Society of Canada. He leads critical initiatives as Co-Director of the MS/NMO Clinical Trials Research Group at UBC Hospital and Director of the UBC MS/MRI Group, driving advancements in neurology research and patient care.

His research specializes in Multiple Sclerosis and Neuromyelitis Optica, with emphases on clinical trial methodology, evidence-based MRI practice guidelines for MS management, quantitative MRI outcome development, and NMO therapeutics. This work bridges imaging science and clinical neurology to optimize diagnostic precision and treatment efficacy for neuroinflammatory conditions.

Dr. Traboulsee has been honored with the prestigious MS Society of Canada Research Chair award, recognizing his leadership in advancing MS research.

Through his directorship of the UBC MS/MRI Group and co-leadership of the MS/NMO Clinical Trials Research Group, he oversees multidisciplinary teams conducting translational research that directly informs clinical protocols and therapeutic innovations for MS and NMO patients.
