Anthony Todd Nichols is an Adjunct Professor of Counseling at Bethel University's College of Adult and Professional Studies, teaching in the Counseling (M.A.) program since 2024. He is a licensed psychologist in Minnesota and serves as Executive Director of the Family Attachment and Counseling Center in the Twin Cities.
His educational background includes:
- M.A. in Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Austin (1992)
- M.A. in Latin American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin (1992)
- Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Walden University (2013)
Specializing in trauma psychology, Dr. Nichols focuses on children who have experienced early life maltreatment and are adopted, as well as males with sexual addiction issues. He is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), applying these evidence-based approaches in clinical practice.
He has served nine years on the Board of Directors of the Association for Treatment and Training in the Attachment of Children (ATTACh) and was a member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC) Task Force on Attachment Therapy.
At the Family Attachment and Counseling Center, Dr. Nichols leads a team providing specialized trauma treatment for individuals and families.
