Anthony S. Chen is an Associate Professor of Sociology and Associate Chair at Northwestern University's Department of Sociology, part of the Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences. He specializes in political and historical sociology, focusing on U.S. public policy development since the New Deal, civil rights, and business-government dynamics. Chen holds a BA from Rice University and a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, where he was a Soros Fellow and Robert Wood Johnson Scholar. Previously, he served on the faculty at the University of Michigan for eight years.

His articles appear in journals like American Journal of Sociology and Studies in American Political Development.
