Anthony Rostain, MD, is the Chair and Professor of Psychiatry and Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine. He holds dual appointments in Psychiatry and Pediatrics, reflecting his expertise in lifespan neurodevelopmental psychiatry. His clinical and research focus centers on neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, Tourette syndrome, and learning disabilities, with an emphasis on improving patient outcomes and service systems for affected individuals and families.
Education: MD from New York University School of Medicine. Training includes an internship in Psychiatry at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, residency in Psychiatry at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic.
Research interests include lifespan neurodevelopmental disorders, cognitive-behavioral therapy approaches for adult ADHD, and college mental health. He co-authored influential books including The Adult ADHD Tool Kit, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Adult ADHD, and The Stressed Years of Their Lives.
Professional memberships include the American Psychiatric Association, American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and American Professional Society of ADHD and Related Disorders. He is a core faculty member at the Edward D. Viner Center for Humanism Education and Training.
