معرفی
Anthony Ingrisano is an Associate Professor in the Painting department at the Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA), also teaching in the Foundation program. He holds an MFA from Pratt Institute and previously taught at Briarcliffe College. His work is exhibited through Lesley Heller Workspace in New York, with a practice focused on mixed-media painting exploring sociopolitical themes, urban landscapes, and cultural narratives. He contributed essays to Sharon Louden's Living and Sustaining a Creative Life.
Ingrisano’s research examines the intersection of abstract composition and socio-cultural commentary, using layered acrylic, ink, and collage techniques. Notable projects include the Homs Sweet Homs series (2016-2018), which incorporates survivor testimonies from Syria's civil war into fragmented paintings. His work Emerson (2015) integrates textual erasure of Ralph Waldo Emerson's writings into layered institutional imagery. Recent works like Sans Serif (2021) and Razzle Dazzle airport series (2018-2019) explore geometric abstraction and camouflage patterns in urban contexts.
His artistic process often involves cutting and rearranging paper elements to create layered spatial narratives, as seen in Perspective Mapping (2016) and Aerial Cartography (2014) series. Ingrisano’s practice bridges fine art creation with pedagogical innovation, emphasizing material experimentation and conceptual depth in CIA's undergraduate programs.
