Anthony Dean Griffey is a Professor of Voice at the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester (since 2015). He holds degrees from Wingate University, Eastman School of Music, Juilliard School, and was a member of the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Program. A renowned tenor, he has performed in major opera houses globally, including the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Paris Opera. His roles span classical and modern operas, such as Peter Grimes, Of Mice and Men, and A Streetcar Named Desire, earning critical acclaim.
Griffey’s career includes collaborations with conductors like Seiji Ozawa, James Levine, and Michael Tilson Thomas.
