Dr. Anthony Bernier is a Full Professor at the School of Information, San José State University. He holds a Ph.D. in History from UC (2002), M.A. in History from UC (1995), MLIS from UC Berkeley (1987), and A.B. in Sociology from UC Berkeley (1982). His research focuses on equitable library services for youth, library administration, and the history of libraries. He has authored/co-authored books such as *Young Adult Services: Challenges & Opportunities* (2024) and *Transforming Young Adult Services* (2020). Bernier has secured over $500K in grants (e.g., National Leadership Grants) and serves on committees like the Youth Services Program Advisory Committee. He advises the Student Research Journal and First Generation Students Group at SJSU.
**Research Interests**: Administration and Management, Young Adult Services, Libraries and Society, History of Libraries. Recent articles address youth services pedagogy and library design. Bernier’s column *YA Strike Zone* (2013–2019) explored YA librarianship challenges. He chairs the Faculty Research Committee and previously served on ALA’s Committee on Accreditation.
