Ansgar Gerhardus

Prof. Dr. Ansgar Gerhardus is the Head of the Department of Health Services Research at the University of Bremen. With a medical degree (1995) and MPH (2005), he completed his Habilitation at Bielefeld University (2010). His career spans leadership roles at Hannover Medical School (2000-2004), Bielefeld University (2006-2010), and the University of California, San Francisco (Harkness/Bosch Fellow, 2010-2011).

His work integrates ethical analysis and stakeholder engagement in health technology assessment (HTA).

Recent publications emphasize digital health determinants, social prescribing, and systemic approaches to dementia research. He co-developed the DigiPHrame framework for digital public health interventions and led evaluations of psychiatric care quality indicators.
