Professor Anselm Heinrich is a Senior Lecturer in Theatre Studies and College International Dean at the University of Glasgow's College of Arts. Born in Germany, he holds degrees from the University of Münster and completed his PhD at the University of Hull. His research focuses on German and British theatre history, dramaturgy, and theatre under Nazi occupation. He has held significant roles in academia, including organizing international conferences and serving on the executive committee of the Society for Theatre Research.

Research Interests:
He specializes in Nazi-era theatre propaganda, regional theatre dynamics, and comparative studies of German and British theatre. Notable projects include investigations into German-language theatres under occupation and the dramaturgical work of Alexander Weigel and Heiner Müller in East Germany. His 2017 monograph Theatre in Europe Under German Occupation explores wartime theatrical networks.

Teaching & Supervision:
He teaches Victorian theatre, German classical drama, and postmodern performance. His courses include 'Modern German Theatre' and 'Applied Theatre and Social Arts.'
Administration:
As College International Dean, he oversees study abroad programs, including ERASMUS exchanges with Berlin and Stockholm universities.
External Activities:
A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, he chairs Thalia Germanica’s Academic Advisory Council and reviews for journals like Theatre Research International. He has collaborated with the Goethe-Institut on cultural events and served as an external examiner for Bristol and Goldsmiths universities.
