Prof. Annie van den Oever holds multiple academic roles, including:

- Advisory Board Member at Bilkent University's Faculty of Art, Design, and Architecture
- Associated Researcher at the Cinéma et Audiovisuel department of the Institut ACTE, Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne
- Head of the Film Archive & Media Archaeology Lab at the University of Groningen
Her research expertise spans Film Theory, Aesthetics of Technology, Visual Media, Experimental Media Archaeology, and Theory and History of the Grotesque.
