Annette Lykknes is a Professor at the Department of Teacher Education, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), specializing in chemistry education, history of chemistry, and the nature of scientific discovery. She leads the ScienceHumanities research group, which integrates humanities and social sciences with science education. Her work focuses on the periodic system, critical thinking, sustainability education, and women’s contributions to science. She has coordinated major projects like the International Year of the Periodic Table (IYPT2019) and currently leads Grunnstoffblokka, STEM-key, and CriThiSE. Her research spans historical analysis of scientific practices, textbook representations, and innovative teaching methods like small-scale experiments.
