Annett Bierer

Prof. Dr. Annett Bierer is a Professor at HTWK Leipzig's Faculty of Business Administration and Industrial Engineering, where she also serves as Dean of Studies for the Industrial Engineering Bachelor program. She holds a doctorate in economics from Chemnitz University of Technology (2008) and completed her Diplomkauffrau (Business Administration) at the same institution. Her office is located in Room ZU 307.

Her research focuses on:

• Cost-oriented product and process development
• Energy management and controlling systems
• Industrial applications of controlling in Industry 4.0 environments
• Sustainable production methodologies
• Life cycle costing and assessment integration

She has participated in research projects including the Excellence Cluster eniPROD and Smart Controlling for Smart Industries (2015-2018).

Her publications (2011-2015) predominantly explore industrial cost optimization, energy efficiency in manufacturing, and sustainable resource management. Research themes show strong emphasis on integrating environmental and economic perspectives in production systems.

She advises bachelor/master theses and collaborates with industry partners on applied research. Office hours are scheduled via appointment through the OPAL learning platform.
