Annemie Maertens is a Professor of Economics at the University of Sussex Business School. Her research focuses on development and agricultural economics, with fieldwork in India and Sub-Saharan Africa. She examines how social networks, norms, and identity influence economic decisions, particularly in agricultural technology adoption, land markets, and gender dynamics.
