Annelise Norlyk is a Professor and Degree Programme Director at the Department of Public Health, Aarhus University, Denmark. She leads the Master of Science in Nursing and Advanced Practice Nursing programs, focusing on integrating patient perspectives to advance person-centered care for older adults in municipal settings.
Her research explores existential dimensions of illness, hospital-to-home transitions, and ethical considerations in qualitative health research using phenomenological and hermeneutic approaches. She investigates lived experiences of recovery post-discharge and homecare nursing to humanize healthcare systems through patient and family-centered methodologies.
Recent publications (2024-2025) demonstrate consistent focus on collaborative practices during hospital-to-home transitions for older adults, examining well-being, independence, and sectoral conflicts through qualitative lenses. Her work identifies systemic tensions in care continuity while proposing patient-centered solutions for community nursing and early discharge models.
Professor Norlyk supervises five PhD students and international projects in Norway/UK while securing over DKK 42 million in research funding from EU Marie Curie, Horizon 2020, Helsefonden, and Novo Nordisk Foundation for homecare innovation and transition studies.
