Anne Tervo holds the title of Senior University Lecturer at Aalto University's Department of Architecture. She earned a Doctor of Science (Architecture) in 2021 and a Master of Science (Architecture) in 2006 from Helsinki University of Technology (now part of Aalto University).
Her research focuses on Housing Design, Apartment Building typologies, Urban Growth, and Housing Preferences in Finnish metropolitan areas. She explores how Spatial Quality and Furnishability impact residential satisfaction.
In recent years, her publications emphasize User-Centric Design, Sustainable Housing Solutions, and Domestic Space Optimization. Her work often involves Case Studies in Finnish cities and collaborations with researchers like Saarimaa, Meriläinen, and Laine.
- Received the ARTS teaching award 2018 for academic excellence.
- Co-recipient of the Rakentamisen Ruusi 2022 award for contributions to housing design.
As an advisor, she guided Pham, N. (recipient of the Wuorio award for best Master's Thesis in 2025). Her 21 activities include 13 Invited Academic Talks and 4 Public Outreach Events on topics like Solo Living and Smaller Homes.
